DARK PARADISE RADIO VOL 2 OUT NOW

Videos

GRAVEYARD TAPES VOL. 1: Stemming from our biggest edit to date (DP MEGAMIX) I had a few amount of clips that did not get used in that mix. Because of that, I decided it would be the perfect oppurtunity to put together a little B-Side edit to show what our skate sessions look like. Which is great because it allows us to showcase a few clips that we would otherwise never use in an actual edit.

DP MEGAMIX: This edit was intended to be a display video for a series of Dark Paradise pop-up shops that happened during the months of September 2023 - November 2023. This mix includes a number of amazing local bands, some of our favorite edits, as well as a ton of unreleased/never before seen footage. We'd like to give a really big shout out to Josh from DWNKILL & Tyler at Temps Tat Zine for putting us on to our first vendor event @ FREE AF SKATE AT EZ-7, which lead to us doing a small vendor tour!

A Work In Progress (Intro Preview): The title of this video came from a project that started off as a full length feature, but all of a sudden became a short edit. We set out to get as many clips as we could when the filming for this video was initally started. We even took a small skate trip as a team to go film in another city. Long story short all the footage for this video that was filmed onto a SD card, was erased by a simple (yet really stupid) mistake. Which meant that almost everything that we had been filming for about a year was gone. The only footage that remained was a few clips that resided on my computer's hard drive & a physical mini DV tape. All of the footage came from the tape.

Ditch Day (2021): This edit was filmed all in one day, back in July of 21'. Story goes like this: homies and I were looking for some new & different spots to skate at. We found a social media page that posts local skatespots and they posted a picture of this crazy looking ditch. We then planned a mission to track this ditch down & skate it. Thus creating this edit.

December Footy: The day was December 1, 2021, I just recieved a digital recorder for my VX setup the day before, Roberto calls me and says he's trying to skate (which was a rare thing of him to do at this time). I say, "Perfect, I just got my tapeless recorder yesterday lets go film some shit". A few moments later we're outside Papasitos in downtown filming our first actual attempt at a B-Roll smoking scene // Also shoutout to ol dude in the red truck for doing burnouts in front of police for the clips. Shit was legendary.
(P.S the truck guy was fine, cop just gave him a warning & let him go, probably cause he saw me filming from afar)

Security Shenanigans: Whether you hate 'em or love 'em, almost every skate spot has them. That's right, I'm talking about security guards. This video showcases some of those hardworking men & women (and apparantly robots now too) hard at work protecting our streets and ensuring our safety & security. Seriously though, these robot/droid looking security guard things are a testiment to how far technology has come. (We can easily juke tf out of these things to hit a spot)

OutInThaStreets,PuttingInWork: After aquiring a nice little JVC camcorder off some dude on Facebook, I wanted to start recording more clips of the crew. The only problem was that we all had to work during the day, so we could only film at night during this period of time. Unbeknownst to me the camcorder was terrible in low light conditions so a lot of this footage ended up being heavily edited to be brighter. I was almost going to scrap the entire edit, but then it started to grow on me.

DARK PARADISE PRESENTS: HOT AS HELL A CONTEMPORARY ART PIECE OUT NOW ON YOUTUBE

#pointblank (2013) - Lost footage of one our very first attempts at making a skate video as Dark Paradise. This is only the trailer, as the final edit was never finished. This video alongside two of our other early videos (Da Crew - 2013 & Trap City - 2013) remain forever lost to time. Back then we were just a local skate crew having fun and skating every day. Very blessed to say we are still doing the same thing years later!
